Eligibility for the Australia Skilled Independent Visa requires obtaining more than 65 out of 100 points on the evaluation grid, based on the following criteria:
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years old.
- Education: Preference is given to those with bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degrees.
- Work experience: Minimum of one year’s experience in the relevant field.
- Language skills: Proficiency in the English language is mandatory.

Steps to Apply for Australia Skilled Migration
Step 1: Evaluation
The accrediting organization assesses whether your occupation meets Australian requirements, considering your occupation type, educational background, and work experience. Upon acceptance, you receive a letter of accreditation. Various accreditation agencies exist for different professions. The decision typically takes two to three months to be communicated to you.
Step 2: English language testing
In order to pass the IELTS exam, you must receive a minimum score of 6 out of 9. This applies to speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
Step 3: EOI and ITA
With an Expression of Interest (EOI), you must use Skill Select to apply for the visa. You must be given permission by the Australian government to apply for a skilled visa. Put an Expression of Interest under Skill Select to do this.
Step 4: Apply for a state nomination
You can apply for the nomination of a state government if your line of work is in demand in that state. After applying, it could take 1 to 4 weeks for you to hear about your nomination.
Step 5: Apply for a visa online
Your application must be accompanied by certified copies of all of your educational, employment, and other official records.
Step 6: Police clearance and medical certificate
Only have a medical exam performed by a local physician who is on the Australian Embassy’s list of registered physicians. A police certificate clearance confirming that you have resided in the nation for a total of 12 months over the last ten years will also be required of you.
